How we research
We don't test products in a lab or at home. Our guides are research-based: we read the full product listing for every model we cover, pull out the specs that change daily life with a robot vacuum, and compare them side by side. When a listing doesn't state something, we say "not stated" instead of guessing.
What we use
- Manufacturer specs as published on each product's Amazon listing: suction, dock functions, mop washing and drying temperatures, mop lift, obstacle recognition, height.
- Amazon rating data: the average star rating and the number of ratings, with the date we checked. We treat these as a signal of how widely a model is owned, not as our own verdict.
What we don't do
- We don't claim hands-on testing we haven't done.
- We don't invent owner quotes or scores.
- We don't print prices. They change too often to be accurate on a static page, so use the button to see the current price.
- We don't treat suction numbers as directly comparable across brands. Each maker measures its own way.
How picks are made
A pick means "best of the models we've compared for this need," and each guide lists what it hasn't covered yet. We update pages when listings change and show the date on every page.

Spotted a spec that's out of date? Tell us via the About page and we'll check it against the listing.
